DOMESTIC TRADE COMMITTEE
MASA Domestic Trade Committee is to address all issues relating to the operation and development of vessels engaged in domestic trade comprising the liner, bulk, offshore and tanker sectors. In addition, the Committee shall look into issues pertaining to Domestic Shipping Licensing Board, local shipping legislation and local authorities via ports, terminals and Customs and any other matters related to domestic shipping.
Finance Committee is to address issues relating to the financial aspect of shipping that may affect the shipping industry and financial implications of proposals made by maritime-related national, regional and international bodies. The Committee will also oversee the financial matters of the Association, which include the annual budget, income and expenditure, and membership subscriptions among others. The Committee may make recommendations on financial issues to MASA EXCO as requested or when necessary.
LEGAL , REGULATORY AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE
The responsibilities and functions of the Committee are:
- to promote membership of the Association in the Malaysian maritime industry
- receive applications for Ordinary and Association memberships; and
- to evaluate and recommend applications for membership of MASA

The Sabah Committee is to discuss all issues relating to the shipping and maritime industry in Sabah and where appropriate, to make reports or recommendations to MASA EXCO for further action.
MASA Sarawak Committee will be the focal point for information and feedback on any shipping or related matters for all MASA members in Sarawak. The Committee will forward and present any issue member may raise to MASA EXCO for further deliberation.
The Seamen Committee is to consider issues relating to seamen training, certification, regulations and welfare in Malaysia and overseas. The Committee shall prepare recommendations on issues relating to training, certification, regulations and welfare and other matters as requested by MASA EXCO.
The Technical Committee is to address issues relating to the technical, safety, environmental aspects of shipping and proposals of national, regional and international bodies including the International Maritime Organisation, Asian Shipowners' Forum, Federation of ASEAN Shipowners' Association and others which may affect the shipping industry. The Committee may make recommendations on technical issues to MASA EXCO as requested or when deemed necessary.
